Superman vs. Batman: New Batsuit and Batmobile

Ben Afflecks Bat suit in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman movie. To my surprise, I actually like the design. It reminds me of the Year One costume. Along with the new Batmobile! I LOVE that it's not the bulky tumbler.

"The story of three best friends at the end of the world"

Rover Red Charlie is a six part story set from the perspective of a dog and his friends as they go on a adventure to find the remaining feeders. I have to say, this book is both adorable, and depressing. Adorable as far as how the dogs act, talk, and think. But man oh man, can this book get upsetting. If you cried like a girl to dog deaths in movies, you're going to be on suicide watch after reading this.  Characters are fleshed out well, and you really care for the furry protagonists.

Story

The story begins with the narrator talking about how all the feeders(humans) went crazy and started killing themselves. The book doesn't go in depth with what kind of doomsday this is, if it's supernatural, or man made. All you know is that humans are killing themselves and each other. Which works great in my opinion. You find yourself clueless, like the dogs in the story.

With their owners dead, the trio sets off to find other humans. They encounter other dogs and make friends and enemies along the way. Seeing how various kinds of dogs are handling the end of the world is a treat. You see happy farm dogs just not caring, to military dogs wondering when their squad will come back. There are happy moments, but when the upsetting moments show up, no one is safe.

Art

There really is not to much to say about the art honestly. Dogs look nice, when there is human carnage it looks gruesome. Very typical Avatar Press art.

Dialogue

Probably my favorite part of this book is how the dogs talk. Just to give you an idea:

• Humans = Feeders
• Oceans/Lakes = Splashes
• Mountains = Big bigs

When dogs bark, apparently they are shouting "I'm a dog!" it's cute.

Get Ready For It!

This book is published by Avatar.  The company that brought you The Crossed, Uber, and all the other gory stuff. If you don't wish to see dogs occasionally get killed, or humans die in horrific ways, don't read this. But for those who can actually handle such stuff should.

Over all it's a fun and wild ride. The best of comedy, horror, and adventure. If you could read this any time soon, I must say. Pick. It. Up.

Do yourself a favor and check this book out!

DC Relaunches Suicide Squad!

Suicide Squad Relaunch

Looks like the Titans aren't the only ones getting a relaunch. The series will be relaunched this July, under the title "New Suicide Squad" With writer, Sean Ryan and artist Jeremy Roberts. Personally I don't like the "New" in the title, it reminds me of the Marvel titles with the work new in front of it...

As seen above, Deathstroke, Joker's Daughter(She doesn't belong there) and Black Manta will be joining, or destroying the old team!

I'm happy Slade will be staring in another book and I do enjoy Manta tagging along. But Joker's Daughter is just odd. I feel like DC is trying to actually make her something.

Arrows's Flash

Presenting, Barry Allen

The creature of Green Arrow's costume in Arrow has shown off his new design for Barry Allen, which I'm sure you're all aware of, is making a apperance on Arrow. The actor playing the fastest man alive is Grant Gustin . The released image doesn't show off much, but it gives some kind of idea. The suit seems darker than the comic version. And it also has a chin guard.

Only time will tell on how this costume looks. But with what is shown, I have to say it looks great!

Random Recommended Reading! Parasyte!

So I left my comfort zone for this RRR. I don't usually read manga, but something about this book just grabbed my attention. The story is set around a Highschool boy named Shinji, everything is all and well in his life until alien spores fall upon the planet. These parasites invade their prey by entering their ears, luckily Shinji blocks the snake like alien. But he the alien manages to infect Shinji's right hand. Now he must learn to coexist with an alien parasite, but it won't be that simple. Some parasites need to feed...

Story

While it does have one of my biggest pet peeve about manga/anime, being centered in Highschool. That being said, the story doesn't completely revolve around his school life. There are chapters were there is a problem at school, but it's brief. It's a fun ride and actually has twists, things that you think wouldn't happen, do.

Art

While the art is some what "bland" in my opinion. It's the alien designs that take the cake. I feel like I'm reading a "The Thing" Manga at times. The creatures are pretty much like that. They consume a host and take its form. But underneath it's a hideous mess of eyes, teeth, and multi-limbs.

Action

While this does contain a lot of fun mystery in it. It has enough action and gore to keep you invested. If you're into that kind of stuff. It's a lot of tentacles and blades lashing around. Decapitations, people being impaled, that kind of stuff. It's all fun and wild. In the early parts of the chapters the fights were mostly Migi doing all the work. When you get past a particular part, Shinji joins the fray and the fights go to a whole new level of fun. If you're looking for a alien on alien blood battle, look no further

Over all the series is everything you need in a good book. Action, mystery, comedy, gore, aliens, just perfect. I dove in thinknig it be another typical manga and came out loving this series. Please, do yourself a favor and check this out!

Robocop Respect Thread!

Your move, creep.

I was thinking of making this respect thread for two reasons. One, because of the up coming movie remake. And two, because I feel like Robocop isn't respected enough on the battle forums. Now, I don't plan on posting movie feats, so these feats will only have comic feats.

So, let's start, shall we?

Strength

Robocop is an easy 5 tonner.

Easily lifts a car

Punches through a wall and kicks down a steel door

Now this is probably his best strength feat in the comics. He holds up the foot of a giant mech. The weight was never stated so you can only estimate how heavy the foot is and how much pressure.

 So he's so slouch in the strength department.

Durability 

 Now most think that Robocop is easily beat by explosions, falling, etc. But he's actually a walking tank.

Falls from a helicopter and busts through multiple floors of a building.

And of course Robocop eats bullets all the time.

Speed

Now Robocop is protrade as being slow in the movies. He's quite fast in the comics, but only by a small amount.

Yautja(Predator) Respect Thread

One of my favorite creatures in cinema and comics, the Predator. This race of hunters are equipped with a deadly arsenal and have superhuman stats. These are feats all from all forms of media, movies, games, books, and comics.

Note! While every Yautja is different in skill, they all share similar stats.

Strength

Besides from the iconic spine rip, the species has shown insane feats of strength!

In the Predator Universe, the hunters have been shown to out run gun fire. Even dodge close range machine gun fire!

Bullseye Respect Thread

Lets all pay some tribute to Marvels number one marksmen, Bullseye! Daredevils infamous arch enemy is a master at throwing projectiles, to using fire arms, and of course close quarters combat.

Bio

Bullseye first appeared in Daredevil #131 and has ever since been in an endless battle against the blind hero.

This assassin lost his life in the Shadow Land event. He was resurrected by Lady Bullseye and the Hand, only to become a vegetable by Daredevil in their final fight. Bullseye is not blind, def, and paralyzed. Hopfully Marvel will bring their greatest shot.

Firearms

While Bullseye doesn't use firearms that much, his accuracy with them is off the charts.

I believe the feat speaks for itself.

Iron Fist: The Living Weapon

Iron Fist: The living Weapon

Back in his own solo book, Danny, the Immortal Iron Fist returns. Coming the April, Kaare Andrews is taking on the challenge of being the books  writer, pencil, inker, colorist, and provide covers for the book.


The story will be centered around Danny's origin, taking us to the hidden city, K'un-Lun. Karre is focusing on Danny's choices when he was younger. If you were a fan of Danny's adventures in The Immortal IronFist this is a must pick up. Hopfully Kaare will do the character justice. And hopfully this will be a great book, along with the All New Marvel Now titles. Only time will tell.
